doing some paintings from mugshots
Two paintings in progress, one of DMX, and another of Woody Harrelson, both from their mugshots. DMX is about 3 hours in, woody only and hour or so. Sorry for the bad photography.. its hard to see if the lighting is any good on that tiny camera screen.

two little guache studies
the 110 on-ramp, downtown los angeles
A painting from reference of the downtown Los Angeles freeway. It’d be nice to paint from, but I’d have to stand in the middle of the freeway. so until I am legend’s zombie people take over the world, from a photograph it will be.
Onkitsuka Tiger #2
Its been awhile since an update… Here is another quick oil sketch of some onitsuka tigers, an old figure painting from LAAFA way back when I took a class from Adrien Gotlieb. Lastly, a photo of the studio’s progress…. the left wall is going to stay gallery like, the right will remain a cluttered mess. Its good to keep some sense of order somewhere isnt it?

Setting up a Studio
I once heard someone say the only safe investment is in yourself. The market is all crazy, not that I understand it, or even care to when its stable… So I’m investing… in my painting… by renting a studio.
Its in Lincoln Heights, near downtown LA.. going to be a gallery / party space when its finished as well.. I waited out evening rush hour there with a painting… my shoes: f’n onitsuka tiger.. best shoes in the world.
a few pictures of the studio space:
This area will be the gallery… roll up door allows for some giant work to be hauled in and out.
